Reverse osmosis or a simple filter?
A membrane osmosis system (Vontron) removes limescale and most dissolved impurities for water close to bottled quality; a simple filter mainly catches particles and improves taste without treating water hardness.
Cartridges and membrane need regular changing
Cartridges (sediment, activated carbon) are generally changed every 6 to 12 months depending on use, while the osmosis membrane (Vontron) is changed roughly every 2 to 3 years to keep filtration performance steady.
